The weather is absolutely miserable right now. Lots of thunder and lightening. Gio is huddled up next to me. I don’t think he’s afraid of the thunder. He just likes a reason to cuddle up on the couch. He’s being super cute. For now.
I’ve had a decent weekend. It’s been super busy, but I feel like I got some things done. I cleaned the refrigerator from top to bottom. Scrubbed the shelves and everything. After that I met up with my favorite couple F & K for ice cream. Well, actually a Blizzard. It was delish!
I also made a pan fried chick pea salad. I’m super impressed by this since I hate to cook and this recipe was full of firsts for me including my first time zesting or making a dressing. Go me! I think it came out yummy. See:

I ate it on a bed of mixed spring salad mix and it was full of win. I’m going to consider it a success! I think next time I’ll mix in more onions and cilantro though. No biggie.
Also, I’m climbing on the wagon tomorrow. (I had wine to finish up today.) Nothing major, but I’d like a few weeks break. Kind of a reset. I’ve been drinking too much wine, too many nights and it needs to stop. It’s a bad habit. Do I feel like I have a problem? No. Am I happy with the amount I’m drinking and do I find it counter-productive? You better believe it. Especially since I’m having issues with sleep and hydration.
I drink wine a few nights a week. They’re a few more nights than I want, so the best thing to do is stop for now. I’m probably not going to like it the first few days. Actually, I know I’m not going to like it the first few days. I enjoy my after work wine drinking. But really, it’s pointless. Will I drink when out to dinner or on special occasions? Yes. Will I sit around drinking in my house? Nope. Do I think this will help rid me off those pesky 5 lbs and improve my running. Man, do I hope so.
It might take me a few times to get it right, but I’m going to do it. I will keep y’all posted. Because I know you care. <insert eyeroll here>

Today’s Run: 4.2 miles | 45 or so minutes (Haven’t pull the info off my Garmin, yet.)
It was hot, but I ran and I’ll take it. ’nuff said.
