Hello from blustery South Florida.

This is just a quick programming note to let you know I did read all of your great comments on “That” moment. I’m glad that I’m not the only one that kind of let herself go at one point.

So, where are the comments? I installed Disquss and lost them all. Not really. I can still see them. They just need to be exported over to Disquss or whatever the hell that shit is called. Those comments should be back in the next day or so. After I make many, many backups!

I was so proud of myself for actually hydrating properly last night, laying out my running clothes, and setting an alarm clock to make sure I did not sleep through my run. I fully intended to set out on my 6 mile run at 5:30 am. I wanted to be done running before the sun came up because right now the sun and I aren’t friends. At all.

I managed to get up as planned and started getting dressed. I had a cup of tea and checked my emails. Things were going well until…thunder and rain. No biggie. It rains all the time in Florida. It usually ends as quickly as it begins. Nope. Not this morning. It’s now 7:20 and has been raining for about 2 hours.

I don’t mind running in the rain. It’s actually preferable to heat. Around 6ish the rain slowed some so I headed out. Once I got up the street, I got thunder and lightning. Sigh. Back inside I went. I won’t run in lightning. Too dangerous. It seems like I made the right choice since the storm just got worse.

So, with that, I’ll be running this evening. Not my favorite time to run (I actually run WAY faster in the evening though). Meh…whatever. I’m more upset that I got up early and couldn’t go back to sleep after realizing I’d be rained out.

Since I was up early, I decided to get shit done. One of my favorite things to do. You’ll notice a new template and updated links (let me know if I missed anyone). I also updated my version of WordPress. I’ll try to take some pictures to rotate out in the header this weekend. I want to update the about me page and a couple of other things, too.

I still have about 30 minutes to kill so I’m going to load my dishwasher, clean my bathroom, make my bed (what???), and fold some laundry. All of this productivity is kind of awesome. Plus my house will be clean.

I’ve alluded to the fact that I’ve been busy working on a couple of projects. I’m finally ready to roll out one of them. Please check out my new blog:

Sustainable GeekGirl

snapshotSo, why would I start a new blog? I’ve always been interested in Environmental stuff and I’m constantly worried about sustainability. Not just in the environmental-sense, but also financially. I’m kind of at a cross roads right now and I’m trying to figure out which way my life is going to go. I want to live a nice healthy, earth-friendly sustainable life. That’s what this new blog is about. I don’t want to bog down this blog with that info.

Further, I’d like to hone my audience and writing skills. With that, I don’t want to be burdened with that here. I like that I can write whatever I want here. If it’s boring and week after week of just running talk oh well. If I just want to show pictures of Gio that’s ok, too. (Gio will appear on BOTH blogs. He’s that awesome!)

I will sometimes cross post, but for the most part this is the place to see how my runnings going and stuff like that. Will the blogs possibly combine one day? I’m not sure. I’m not even sure if the new blog will stick around but, I had an idea and decided to move on it. Done and done.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

In anticipation of my 7th year of blogging, I’ll be giving my blog a face lift. In addition, I’m going to be making a better effort to deliver more consistent content and trying to grow the blog. It’s been 7 years! I should have more readers. The content will remain the same for the most part. I just want to add more lifestyle/pictures and stuff. No biggie.

I’ve been pretty busy this weekend. My friend is in town from Atlanta, so I went out for drinks with him last night. I was quite proud of myself that I got up this morning and put in an easy (not really!) three.  I hope to get in few more miles tomorrow. Last week wasn’t that great for my running because I kept moving them to the evenings. It just doesn’t work for me. I’m forcing myself to get out in the morning as I always have. I just keep oversleeping lately.
